Viatera Carrara Ambra by LX Hausys solves a very specific design problem: How do you get the classic Italian marble look without the room feeling cold? While traditional Carrara marble is defined by gray and blue undertones, Carrara Ambra quartz swaps those out for ribbons of soft cappuccino, honey, and faint blush.
The background is not a stark, sterile white; it is a creamy, luminous off-white that feels instantly inviting. It is rapidly becoming the top choice in Columbus for homeowners moving away from the "all-gray" trend and embracing the "Organic Modern" aesthetic.

Fabricator Insights and Installation
Technical observations from the Distinctive Kitchen team.
Lighting Temperature Strategy This is the most critical piece of advice we give for this specific stone: Lighting matters. Carrara Ambra has distinct yellow/amber undertones. Under cool lighting (5000K Daylight bulbs), the stone can look muddy. We strongly recommend using warm lighting (2700K-3000K) to make the honey veins glow.
Hiding Daily Messes One of the practical benefits of the Ambra pattern is its ability to camouflage. The subtle "latte" veining breaks up the visual surface enough to hide crumbs, dust, and fingerprints much better than a solid white quartz, making it an excellent choice for households with young children.

The Perfect Match: Pairing with Riverwood Cabinetry
As Columbus's exclusive dealer for Riverwood Cabinetry, we have curated specific door styles and finishes that unlock the full potential of Carrara Ambra. Here are our top "Design Recipes" using our in-stock and semi-custom lines:
1. The "Organic Modern" Look (Best Seller)
The Cabinet:Riverwood Essentials – Color: "Drift" The Drift finish in our Essentials line has a textured, weathered wood tone that perfectly picks up the cappuccino veins in the quartz.
The Door Style:Acadia (Slab/Flat Panel). This creates a clean, European aesthetic where the texture of the wood and the movement of the stone take center stage.
Why it works: The warmth of the Drift cabinet prevents the off-white quartz from looking washed out, creating a cozy, nature-inspired kitchen. Plus, with the Essentials line, we can have this ready in 1 week or less.
2. The "Soft Transitional" Look
The Cabinet:Riverwood Designer – Color: "Cloud White" Be careful with white cabinets! A standard stark white can make Ambra look yellow. The Cloud White paint from our Designer collection is a softer, creamy white that harmonizes seamlessly with the quartz's background.
The Door Style:Windsor or Sandusky (Shaker style).
The Hardware:Champagne Bronze Bar Pulls. We stock these specifically because they highlight the gold/amber flecks in the stone. Avoid chrome here; go for gold or bronze.
3. The "Moody & Earthy" Look
The Cabinet:Riverwood Designer – Color: "Fern" Green and gold are a classic combination. The deep, earthy green of our Fern finish provides a stunning contrast to the light quartz, while the warm veins in the stone tie back to the organic feel of the green paint.
The Door Style:Roosevelt or Granville. These detailed doors add a layer of sophistication that matches the intricate veining of the stone.
Quality You Can Feel
When you pair Viatera quartz with Riverwood Cabinetry, you aren't just getting color coordination; you are getting structural integrity.
Soft-Close Standard: All our Riverwood lines (even Essentials) come with soft-close doors and drawers, protecting your heavy quartz countertops from the vibration of slamming cabinets.
Dovetail Construction: Our Classic and Designer lines feature hardwood dovetail drawer boxes, built to hold the weight of heavy pots and pans for decades.
Caring for Carrara Ambra in Columbus
Stain Prevention: While Viatera quartz is non-porous, the lighter background of Ambra means you should still be mindful of highly pigmented spills like red wine or turmeric. Wipe them up promptly.
Hard Water Management: For our Central Ohio clients, the creamy background of this stone is a huge advantage. It blends with the white calcium deposits left by our local hard water far better than dark granite or black quartz.
Heat Safety: The resin that gives this quartz its flexibility is sensitive to thermal shock. Always use a trivet. Scorching a light-colored quartz is difficult to repair invisibly.
